The Second Coming has already taken place. It’s time to change your theology!
STATEMENT:
The Second Coming has already taken place otherwise you make Christ a liar and a deceiver because He told those same people that His return would happen in the lifetime of some of those to whom He was speaking. Matthew 16:28, Mark 9:1, Luke 9:27, Matthew 24:34, Matthew 26:64, Mark 14:62, Luke 22:69, Mark 13:30, Luke 21:22, Luke 21:32, John 21:22 speaking of John the beloved, 1 Thessalonians 4:15, 17, 5:4, Hebrews 10:37 is not a 2,000 year wait, James 5:8 is not a 2,000 year wait.
Christ came in the same clouds He ascended in Acts chapter one just as He spiritually appeared in the Old Testament over the mercy seat in the Mosaic tabernacle and later in the two physical temples in Jerusalem. He now temples in a sanctuary in each believer in His temple not made of hands! His Second Coming was a spiritual one and not a physical one.
When the Scripture disagrees with your theology it’s time to change your theology not the Bible. To be waiting today for His return makes Christ and the Bible a liar and disqualifies Him from being the sinless, spotless Lamb of God!
RESPONSE:
Thanks for your comments. This is my interpretation of the verses you provide.
Matthew 16:28, Mark 9:1, Luke 9:27 are concerning the ‘transfiguration’.
Jesus declared that some listening to Him at that present time would not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power. He was speaking of the Transfiguration (following verses in chapter 17 of Matthew) where God’s glory became manifest on Him. All three gospels give an account of the transfiguration. The transfiguration is a representation of the coming kingdom of which these select disciples saw for themselves on that mount that day.
Concerning Matthew 24:34 and the rest of the verses following it that says things similar to, "… This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."
The word ‘generation’ is not used to refer to the people that would live and die during Jesus time, but it refers to Israel as a nation. When Jesus said, “An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:” Mat 12:39, he is not referring to just the people in his time, but all of Israel, because throughout their history, Israel have always sought signs since God made the covenant of signs with them in the days of Moses.
One must understand that the prophetic program of Israel was suspended, not ended. Since the same program will be reinitiated at the tribulation, Israel will continue in this program until all its prophetic utterances are fulfilled. Similarly, in Luke 21 and Matthew 24-25, Jesus was speaking the same prophecies as Daniel, Isaiah, and others which speak of an Antichrist, a signing of a peace treaty, that knowledge would increase, that the mountains and the hills will be levels due to catastrophic earthquakes, that Israel would be a peace, that 1/3rd of Israel would perish through persecution, that all of Israel would be saved, that a kingdom would exist where animals will be tame, where deserts will bloom, and where there will be an end of war. It is clear that these details mentioned have not yet happened according to the words of the prophets. Thus, all these things are still future from us, but also imminent based on the converging events happening in this world.
You say the second coming of Jesus was a spiritual one. Well, what we are experiencing now in this age of grace is most definitely a spiritual ministry of the Lord. We, as the Body of Christ, walk by faith, not by sight, 2Cor 5:7. Our dispensation is a spiritual one, our blessings are spiritual, Eph 1:3, our inheritance is in the heavens, 2Tim 4:18. But what we are experiencing today is a ministry of the Lord from heaven, not a second coming. Conversely, the Lord’s interactions with Israel are always physical. They are the earthly people of the Lord who will inherit the earth. They require signs. The Lord has always worked with them in the physical, tangible realm. Thus, the second coming of the Lord will not be spiritual, but absolutely physical. He will come in clouds of glory and be manifested in the natural so that men of renown will call on the rocks and hills to fall on them to hide them. Men’s hearts will fail them for the fear of the Lord who shall appear in great power and might to take vengeance on the wickedness of the world. None of this can happen in a ‘spiritual’ way. All this is physical and tangible.
I’m not sure how you interpret these things, but what I read in the Bible, at least for me, lines up with my theology. Jesus Christ is coming again soon in a physical way to set up a physical 1000-year Kingdom and fulfil the remainder of prophecy. Lastly, Christ can never be disqualified from being the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. Humans can lie and deny it by what they believe, but He cannot deny himself. Let God be true and every man a liar.
