Please give two examples of what Apostle Paul said that contradicted Jesus Christ.

QUESTION:

Please give two examples of what Apostle Paul said that contradicted Jesus Christ.

ANSWER:

Jesus ministered the Kingdom doctrine and Paul ministered the Grace doctrine. Both these doctrines are complementary to each other in God’s greater redemption plan, but in comparing these doctrines with each other, it is here where we find contradictions, simply because the doctrine of each dispensation differs according to God’s design.

I have so many differences that I am finding it difficult to choose which ones to give you.  Let me list these three from 100’s I have.

#1: Jesus says his blood was shed for MANY, Paul says Jesus’ blood was shed for ALL.

Matthew 20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

1 Timothy 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

#2: Jesus says forgiveness is conditional, Paul says Christ has already forgiven us completely.

Matthew 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

—AND—

Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

#3: Jesus says we must obey the law, Paul says we are not under the law.

Matthew 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

These statements are mutually exclusive. One cannot obey both at the same time. The key to understand these, and the 100’s more that can be used, is to know that Jesus ministered to the Jews under law while Paul ministered to all men under grace. These are two difference doctrines for different people groups for different purposes in God’s redemption plan. This is why Paul says we must rightly divide the Word of truth, 2Tim.2:15. If you keep them separated, Israel and the Body of Christ, Law and Grace, Prophecy and Mystery, then everything becomes clear and in context. The moment you mix or blend these two doctrines together, then it creates a mess, confusion, contradictions and contentions.

Both Jesus and Paul spoke the will and purpose of God, but in different times and for differing purposes. They might contradict, but they are all in complement in God’s overarching plan.

God bless.
