RESPONSE:

ABSOLUTELY!!! Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus, come.

Paul tells us many times that we are to be LOOKING for our Saviour from heaven and WAITING patiently for His appearance.

Rom.8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

1Cor.1:7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Gal.5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Php.3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

1Th.1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

2Th.3:5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

Tit.2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

While we look and wait, we ought to continue to grow in our knowledge of the Word of God, studying it diligently and rightly dividing it to be approved unto God, and allowing that knowledge we gain to renew our mind and to influence our thoughts, speech, and actions here on earth. By walking in step with the Spirit (becoming obedient to the inner workings of the Word of God within us), we’ll daily work out our own salvation (which is reward, the measure of the fullness and glory of Christ which He will give us in that day), accomplishing the works that God has ordained unto us, and pleasing Him as we glorify His Son and become ensamples of faith, hope, and love, as we redeem the time until He comes. Hallelujah!!

By the way, to be pedantic here, we are not waiting for Christ’s second coming, but His ‘appearing’, which I personally believe will be in secret. The second coming of Jesus Christ will be at the end of the 7-year Tribulation when he comes to destroy His enemies, purge Israel, and save its believing remnant. His ‘appearing’ for the Body of Christ happens prior to the beginning of the Tribulation. This appearing will have no signs and no fanfare but will be an instantaneous appearing for the Body of Christ* to instantaneously snatch them up into glory and take them home to the heavenlies.
