Wow! How these copyrighted bibles have skewed the Word of God.
I THANK GOD for
the ever-faithful King JamesBible which has stood the test of time, which has been kept pure by
the power and preservation of God, which has escaped the corrupt translations
of the carnal mind of man, so that we can learn and understand the mind of God,
His true intentions and purpose, His will, and His ways for us and for all of
His creation.
The word “to” in the
skewed verses below is vastly different to the word “of” in the KJV.
AMP
But on the contrary,
they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised
(Gentiles), just as Peter had been [entrusted to proclaim the gospel] to the
circumcised (Jews);
ERV
But these leaders saw
that God had given me a special work, the same as Peter. God gave Peter the
work of telling the Good News to the Jews. But God gave me the work of telling
the Good News to the non-Jewish people.
ESV
On the contrary, when
they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised, just
as Peter had been entrusted with the gospel to the circumcised
GNT
On the contrary, they
saw that God had given me the task of preaching the gospel to the Gentiles,
just as he had given Peter the task of preaching the gospel to the Jews.
NASB
But on the contrary,
seeing that I had been entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as
Peter had been to the circumcised
NIV
On the contrary, they
recognized that I had been entrusted with the task of preaching the gospel to
the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been to the circumcised.
RSV
but on the contrary,
when they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised,
just as Peter had been entrusted with the gospel to the circumcised
KJV
But contrariwise, when
they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the
gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;
If one says, “the
gospel to the uncircumcised…, just as the gospel to the uncircumcised”, it
is conveying the understanding that the same gospel was preached to two
different people groups. However, in the case of the KJV, using the word “of”,
the conveyed understanding is that there are two different gospels: one
to the circumcision, and a different one to the uncircumcision. Needless to
say, the pure translation of the KJV provides us with the correct
understanding.
God is good.
AMEN
