COMMENT:

I say this with love and respect...

Are you aware that the council of Nicaea in 600AD under the emperor Constantine actually composed the Bible? They took all the works of the Bible, and they pick and choose the ones they want. They redacted information and they heavily altered it in places.

Rome the people who crucified Jesus. They a co-opted Christianity because they couldn't destroy it. So, then they took it an altered it so they could use it to control people and to keep people away from God.

Then King James went along and did it even further to his liking.

I'm not saying the Bible does not contain the truth in places or that it is not good.

I am just pointing out to you that they pick and choose for you. And they didn't do it on behalf of God.

There were 23 books left out of the Bible. There were ancient texts that hadn't been discovered until last century that have also been authenticated that we're not included.

With respect, people should be picking and choosing what works for them. Because that is what Rome and King James is already done.

If they just take it as the only truth then they are not seeing everything.

In fact they are looking to Constantine and King James is the word of God.

MY RESPONSE:

In love and respect, this is my conviction: (and I refer to ONLY the authorized KJV bible for us who speak English)…

The Bible is like the law. As the apostle James says, if one breaks only one law, you are guilty of breaking all the law. Similarly, if you doubt only one word in the Bible, you may as well doubt the entire Bible.

God tells us that Jesus Christ is the Word of God, made flesh and who came to die for our sins and was resurrected for our justification. The Creator has made His will known to us by means of His Word. He has preserved His Word and exalted His Word above His name. I truly believe that what is in the Bible (KJV) today is what was needed to be there. All other texts that existed at that time or discovered in future ages would not add any more value to what is already preserved for us by God. I’m quite sure that God, in all His wisdom selected and preserved what He who chose as content for His book. No more, no less. The message we have today covers all we need for knowledge about God and His plan, and for life and godliness. It is His Word that provides us with faith to believe Him. His Word washes us clean, renews our mind, provides us a doctrine to live, and brings us the message of salvation and eternal hope. It also covers enough to inform us of sin, judgement, and warnings of wrath. God has compiled into His Word what is needed. All we need to do is read it and believe it.

There is not one iota of doubt in me that God’s Word was overseen and preserved by Him throughout the ages and packaged into a canon of Scripture for us to study and enjoy. If I doubt this, I may as well throw the book aside, live it up in sin, eat and be merry, for tomorrow I die without hope and become as dust trodden underfoot.

If I cannot trust God to be powerful and intelligent enough to preserve His pure Word for me, that I might learn of Him and know Him, then what is life worth and what is its intentions and purpose? On the other hand, if I choose to believe that God did this, then I am most fortunate amongst men.

It does not matter what one thinks. We were not there in history. We cannot know for sure what those councils of men did or believed. It is not a matter of ‘knowing’ anyways. Everything of God is a matter of ‘faith’! I trust that God was there in history, overseeing His Words and making sure they were preserved in the perfect state in which He intended them to be. I choose to believe that God did this, and therefore, I can believe EVERY word as pure and every message those words convey as truth.

To God be the glory for this incredible eternal gift, the King James bible, the value of which is exponentially beyond all the riches this world can offer. Believe its whole message and live.

CONTINUED DISCUSSION:

I don't fault to you for believing whatever you want.

And I do not seek to put down your beliefs.

I am curious though if you are willing to share….

Are you aware of the council of Nicaea? And if you are would you be willing to share your thoughts about why you believe they're the authority on the Bible's content?

My only contention is that there is a lot more and that we are smart enough to make our own decisions.

I can't understand the logic of allowing Rome circa 600AD to dictate what parts of the Bible are valid and what parts are not.

The same goes for King James do we trust King James or God?

I hope you understand that I do not write these things to criticize you as much to try to understand what Christians think on this.

This is the primary reason that I am not Christian. I love Jesus and am a follower. But I cannot bring myself to only observe what the council of Nicaea has dictated is worthy.

CONTINUED RESPONSE:

I have a basic knowledge of Bible history and am vaguely aware of the councils and choices men made to put together the canon of scripture. However, I have not allowed that to influence my faith concerning God’s oversight and control to maintain the validity and purity of His Word (KJV).

Consider how the apostles chose Matthias to fill the place of Judas and maintain the full number of apostles for Israel.

Acts 1:23 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. 24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen, 25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. 26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

They prayed and drew lots, as was the custom at that time to make decisions. Do you think it was luck or the hand of God that chose Matthias? Well, if we maintain our faith and trust in God, then we must believe that God oversaw the lots and ensured that Matthias was selected. God’s wisdom and purposes are higher than ours and His plans will be fulfilled accordingly. In the same way, God is able to oversee the creation and purity of His Word for all generations, whether it be by the hand of evil men, or saints.

I go by, “Let God be true and every man a liar.” Romans 3:4.

I know in my heart (without need for reasoning) that God has kept His Word (KJV) pure. If you chose to review the corruption of men and these councils, I can balance it out with the commitment and sacrifice of other men to give us the Bible in our hands today. Please see these posts for details:
