Law and Grace cannot be blended into one doctrine

Law and Grace cannot be blended into one doctrine

COMMENT:

Peter and Paul had way more in common than differences. And your wispy doctrine has you all mixed up if you think you only have to follow what Paul says and not the apostle Peter. They are both apostles of this age of the new covenant and both their writings are to be obeyed because they are both divinely inspired.

ANSWER:

Jesus said the following to his disciples,

Mat 10:5-6 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: (6) But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Furthermore, Jesus himself mentioned about his ministry,

Mat 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Later, Paul confirmed about Jesus and the Kingdom program,

Rom 15:8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:

Moses tells us that Israel shall not be reckoned among the nations, Num 23:9. It is clear to me that the Kingdom doctrine is addressed to Israel ONLY. This is the doctrine connected to law and covenants.

Comparing this to what Paul teaches, he says,

Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye [members of the Body of Christ] are not under the law, but under grace.

He also confirms that we are not under any covenants, which contradicts what you write above,

Eph 2:11-12 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; (12) That at that time ye [members of the Body of Christ] were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

If anything, I am not the one mixing up any doctrine, but rather, I’m keeping these two doctrines completely separated, which is what we are actually instructed to do, 2Tim 2:15.

Lastly, you say that the writings of both Peter and Paul need to be obeyed. If this is the case, then why does Paul say the following,

2Co 5:16-17 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. (17) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

He tells us not to follow the example and teachings of Jesus according to his earthly ministry. That is a BIG thing to say! But Paul knew what he was writing and plainly told us that the old things (doctrine, practices, ordinances, traditions) have passed away and that we have a completely new doctrine. In actual fact, where Jesus commanded the Jews to follow him, Paul said the opposite and never told us to follow Jesus, but to follow him, as he followed (or set the pattern of grace living, 1Tim 1:16) after Christ in a heavenly ministry,

1Co 4:16 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.

1Co 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

Php 3:17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

You are correct when you say that both apostles wrote divinely inspired epistles, but as per the scriptures I quote, Peter wrote and addressed his letters to the Israel whereas Paul wrote and addressed his epistles to the Body of Christ. They are two different doctrines for two different audiences who have different roles to play in the greater redemption plan of God for heaven and earth. The distinctions are plainly evident and to combine these two doctrines will only produce false narratives, confusion, and contradictions. They are meant to be kept apart.

I’m not here to convince you of anything. I’m not trying to force you to do and think anything. If I can, I’m simply pointing you to review the verses I have quoted above and hope that you consider what they are saying. If you acknowledge scripture as the highest authority, then it should take precedence above what you have been taught, or what you have settled upon.
