The Gospels and their Raptures (God - Part 15)
Summary
Below is a summary of the details discussed in the preceding lesson parts of this gospel (the gospel of God), as well as additional points that highlight its unique standing in relation to the other gospels in this study. The table will also be a useful means to run comparisons with the other gospels to really get a grasp on the differences and transitions that occurred within each.
Gospel |
Gospel of the God Gal.2:7 But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; 8 (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:) Romans 1:1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, Romans 15:16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. 2 Corinthians 11:7 Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely? 1 Thessalonians 2:9 For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God. 1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? |
Message |
The key message of this gospel was that the Kingdom was 'again' on offer (at hand) since the Messiah had been resurrected from [out of] the dead. Israel had another chance to repent and get prepared for the Kingdom. This gospel also required an additional baptism; receiving the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. |

System |

Bible Scope |
ACTS (and to a measure, the Jewish epistles, Hebrews to Revelation) |
Conditions |
Repent, confess Jesus as Lord, be water baptized, be Spirit baptized Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. ... 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. |
Works |
We clearly see evidence, just like in the Kingdom gospel, of additional acts, or works, to prove their faith in the message. Obeying the law, sell one's possessions, enduring to the end. Matthew 19:16-17 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. Matthew 6:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. (Also see Matt.16:24; Lk.9:23; Jn.15:13; Matt.16:25; Matt.6:14) Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Acts 4:33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. 34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, 35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need. |
Participants |
Jews, and some Greeks (Gentiles who attended the synagogues and were allies and supporters of the Jews) Acts 13:16 Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience. Acts 13:26 Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you [that] feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent. |

Identifiers and Key Points of Doctrine |
|
Inheritance |
The saints who died in the truth of the gospel of God would become part of the "Little Flock" of believers who would ultimately give up their lives for their faith. They are currently asleep in Christ, and would experience resurrection at the voice of the archangel in the mid-point of the tribulation. They are given white robes (resurrection bodies) and would have to wait a short while until the martyrs of the tribulation and the martyrs of the great tribulations have fully come in. They will serve in the heavenly temple in most part, but some may also hold positions of authority on earth in the Millennial Kingdom |
Transition |
Started at Pentecost and ended at 70AD with the fall of Jerusalem. This same program will continue within the first half of the tribulation with the ministry of the 144000 and end again at the half way mark of the tribulation. |
Part 16 will continue with the 'origin' of the Gospel of Christ.
